The 4th European Lift Congress took place in Heilbronn from October 19^th to 20^th, and it gathered120 participants from 17 countries. The congress agenda featured fifteen speeches about a variety of topics related to the lift industry:

• Advanced technology in lift control systems
• New brake system for traction lifts

Karl Sturmlechner from Wittur GmbH presented a speech about “New Safety Components against Unintended Movements at Landings with Open Doors”. The speech presented Wittur safety solutions featuring EOS electronic overspeed governor. The new revision of EN 81-1/2 A3 makes such devices compulsory for all new lifts installation in Europe from 2011.
