2018 is the 50th anniversary of the foundation of Wittur. Back in 1968, Horst Wittur founded Wittur-Aufzugteile GmbH & Co at the age of 26 in Miesberg near Munich, Germany.
Our companies around the world are starting to celebrate this milestone moment! On May 26, it was Wittur Italy's turn. Our colleagues in Colorno opened the doors of the plant to their families and the entire local community for a one-day celebration that reflected the strong bond between our company and the surrounding towns and villages.
More than 500 people among our employees, their partners and children, former colleagues, local authorities, voluntary organizations supported by Wittur Italy and onlookers gathered together for this very special day and had the chance to visit our plant, enjoy a buffet lunch and participate in many open-air recreation activities, including a "green volley" tournament.
A special, symbolic moment during the celebration was when the participants released 50 balloons in the air to mark the anniversary and the pride of belonging to a company like Wittur. The next stop for Wittur 50th anniversary celebrations will be in Scheibbs (Austria) on June 15.
