On December 19, 2017, Wittur was among the key speakers at the 3rd edition of the conference “Oltre il quadrato e la X – L’ascensore in architettura” (Elevators in architecture) organized by the IUAV in Venice (Italy).

The event focused on analyzing the role of elevators in architecture by presenting interesting projects in which the integration of elevator/building represented a significant technical and design challenge.
Architects, researchers and experts from the elevator industry shared their different point of views and discussed key topics such as building/elevator integrated design, accessibility and modernization.

The general topic of inclusive design and its application in the specific context of Venice and of its 400 bridges was an interesting topic of the agenda, as well as the preview of the forthcoming book “The lift in architecture” collecting a 6-years research project by IUAV, supported by the three Italian lift associations: ANIE AssoAscensori, ANICA and ANACAM.

Claudio Felisi, Wittur Special & Modernizations Consultant, took the stage during the afternoon session and presented our recent supply of special Luna round doors for the amazing elevator of the Steve Job theater in Apple new HQs in Cupertino.

The 'wow effect' on the audience was pretty strong!
