MantovArchitettura is a cultural project conceived and organized by the Mantova Campus of Politecnico di Milano, in the framework of the UNESCO Chair in Architectural Preservation and Planning in World Heritage Cities. The initiative revolves around a rich programme of exhibitions, workshops, conferences and meetings with the protagonists of the international architecture culture.
As part of this event, Wittur organized on May 15, 2019 a workshop for architects and operators in the elevator industry, under the heading "Beyond the doors, the world of interior design in a elevator".
The elevator can become an additional possibility for the architect to impress a style on a new building or to reinvent the spaces during the renovation of an existing building.
The seminar told the story of Wittur's experience through the presentation of a series of architectural projects where the elevator was treated as a "style element" and where Wittur supplied highly customised products.
Dario Trabucco and Elena Giacomello of the Cluster "Vertical Mobility and Accessibility" of the IUAV University of Venice provided some elements to frame the context and an in-depth examination of the relevant laws and standards.
