At the end of November 2018, Wittur plant in Chennai (India) has been audited and certified by TUV Rheinland according to ISO 45001:2018, the new international standard that verifies excellence and good practices in Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems.
Released in March, the new ISO standard puts special emphasis on prevention systems and on the companies' global commitment for the development of a culture of prevention and its continuous improvement. It bases its focus on prevention management as well as on the co-participation of workers and managers in guaranteeing safer and healthier working environments.
"Obtaining ISO 45001 guarantees that Wittur India has implemented, among other requirements, a high-level structure with an adequate context analysis, as well as a clear focus on risks and opportunities for Workers Health and Safety management", explained Venkat Renganathan, Wittur India Quality and HSE Manager.
