During a busy day at Interlift 2019, ELEVATOR WORLD had the chance to meet and interview Wittur CEO Antoine Doutriaux (AD). At the time of the meeting, Doutriaux had been with the company a little more than 18 months, and it was his first Interlift. The experience was proving enlightening for him, as he said it highlighted the scope of the industry, as well as Wittur’s place in it. He and your author (AB) were able to talk about the Interlift experience, as well as what led Doutriaux to the vertical transportation (VT) industry nearly two years ago and Wittur's goals moving forward.

We would like to inform you that, after the transition period, the availability of EN81-1 executions in the Wittur range of safety gears and overspeed governors will be subject to important changes starting from Jan 1st 2020.

Keeping the installed lift base in perfect working order is the main occupation of many lift companies, in Europe and increasingly globally. According to the latest data published in 2019 by the European Elevator Association, over 6 million 150 thousand lifts are installed in Europe, many of them with more than fifteen years of service. 
The modernisation activities of these lifts generated a turnover of more than €1,629 billion in 2018. 
For a better orientation within this important market, I propose a classification of the main activities of lift modernization in five levels, meeting different needs.

Once again, the 1500 sqm Wittur CUBE was the focal point of the Interlift 2019, the international trade fair for elevator components that took place at Augsburg Exhibition Center from October 15^th to 18^th, 2019.

Wittur Group is going to be among the key exhibitors at the 14^th  Interlift trade fair, the global event for elevators and escalators, to be held in Augsburg (Germany) Exhibition Centre from 14 to 18 October 2019.

In its 1500 m² dedicated pavilion, the Wittur CUBE / Hall 8, the manufacturer is going to exhibit its range of components for elevators, from automatic doors to gearless drives, from safety gears to cars, from modernization packages to special complete systems, under the slogan “Freedom of components”. 

Wittur will be present at NAEC’s 70th Annual Convention and 2019 Exposition, the largest vertical transportation show in North America, that will take place in Amway Grand Plaza & DeVos Place Convention Center, Grand Rapids on September 16 - 19, 2019.

Wittur has recently certified the occupational health and safety management systems of all its manufacturing plants and trading companies worldwide according to ISO 45001 standard. 
 

4 years, 100.000 sqm of additional retail space (for a total of 178.000 sqm), more than 250 new brands, new infrastructures (improved access roads, a taxi terminal, a bus station), new vehicles and pedestrian entrances (which are now 52 in total) and even more attention to the four themes that characterizes this impressive location: food, fashion, fun, and family.

These are just some highlights of the expansion project recently completed, on August 22, at the Fourways Mall in Johannesburg, the biggest shopping centre in South Africa.
