During a busy day at Interlift 2019, ELEVATOR WORLD had the chance to meet and interview Wittur CEO Antoine Doutriaux (AD). At the time of the meeting, Doutriaux had been with the company a little more than 18 months, and it was his first Interlift. The experience was proving enlightening for him, as he said it highlighted the scope of the industry, as well as Wittur’s place in it. He and your author (AB) were able to talk about the Interlift experience, as well as what led Doutriaux to the vertical transportation (VT) industry nearly two years ago and Wittur's goals moving forward.

Keeping the installed lift base in perfect working order is the main occupation of many lift companies, in Europe and increasingly globally. According to the latest data published in 2019 by the European Elevator Association, over 6 million 150 thousand lifts are installed in Europe, many of them with more than fifteen years of service. 
The modernisation activities of these lifts generated a turnover of more than €1,629 billion in 2018. 
For a better orientation within this important market, I propose a classification of the main activities of lift modernization in five levels, meeting different needs.

Wittur renforces its team introducing four new people. 
Sabine Kemnitzer and Uwe Meier are technical and commercial contacts for Wittur and Sematic components. 
Dominic Haf is reinforcing the Wittur Team "Technical support/after-sales Wittur components", while Dieter Pechler is reinforcing the Wittur Team "Spare parts Wittur components".

Wittur announces the availability of Fineline door in a new execution with restrictor device for coupling with manual swing landing doors according to the requirements of EN81-20/50.

Together over 100 years of experience, technical knowledge and high quality standards - reason enough for the two managing directors Klaus Gerhards (GF Wittur GmbH) and Urs Affolter (GF LM Liftmaterial GmbH) to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Wittur in Germany together.
Antoine Doutriaux (CEO of the Wittur Group), Christoph Kaml (CFO of the Wittur Group), Geoffroy Durandet (Managing Director Europe) and Ahmet Kanbolat (Managing Director Euroasia and Systems) gave the guests a hearty welcome. 

Wittur's  50th anniversary was celebrated on 7 December in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The Group's CEO, Antoine Doutriaux, and Giorgio Scarabello, managing director Americas, participated in the celebrations of this important event. 
The visitors kindly agreed to give an interview - together with Fernando Luje, general manager of Wittur in Argentina and director of Sales in South America - to discuss Wittur Group's strategy in the global market and the current characteristics of the elevator markets.
